My life has been centered around all things creative. From the time I was 13, I could tell you all I ever wanted to do was do interior design. I was a preacher’s kid and we moved a lot, but I call Louisiana home, hence I studied Interior Design at Louisiana Tech in the very large metropolis of Ruston, Louisiana.
After college, and I am sure, to my parent’s dismay, I promptly decided to become a flight attendant for American Airlines. It was in those 5 years I was able to travel and see all the things I had only read or studied in my art history class (I failed it the first go around) and design classes. This made my passion for design even stronger.
Finally, once I settled down in Dallas I put my design skills to work for a fabulously reputable children’s store. It was in Dallas I had the privilege of decorating and designing children’s rooms from the ground up and some of the most lavish homes in the Dallas area through the Parade of Homes and more.
Wanting to own my own store, I moved to Tulsa, Ok. where I enjoyed all my clients and their precious children on a daily basis. I know you are wondering, where does the photography come in? Having a small child at the time, I found myself stealing time away to shoot friends and family and even tucked a small studio into the back of my store. My passion to get “the” shot that my clients would cherish for a lifetime became a passion like none other! Design is design, whether it is painting, decorating, and yes, even designing the perfect shot. For a more in-depth look at my mission as a photographer, you can view a video explaining my passion and how God led me to my career as a photographer.
As I look back over the years, it is crazy to believe I have had so many wonderful clients and opportunities.
I live a large life in a small’ish’ town. I am blessed to live, work, and play in downtown Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The Rose District is a quaint beautiful place where we are all 1 degree of separation instead of the usual 6 and the art community is up and coming. We welcome you to visit!
When not photographing, I am spending as much time with my most handsome son, Grant who is at OSU~ Go POKES! I design every chance I get. From spaces, and places, buildings, and hosting parties I believe in decorating life and the lives of others.
