Today, I met with Lori Lewis with the Broken Arrow Museum. I can hardly believe next week is “load in”. I am not going to lie, I am feeling more excited and anxious with every passing day. Let’s face it, it’s never easy to push yourself out of your comfort zone. My friend Cindy and I were chatting about how the two of us have a large comfort zone. It takes a lot to make us uncomfortable but I can definitely assure you I AM OPERATING OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE! I’ve always said, I hide in plain sight. There is an illusion that I am everywhere and yet I stay close to home. Here are the ways I am coping with pushing through the fear of showing you my work.
I am not allowing myself to be tied to a certain outcome. Although I want EVERYONE I know to come, I cannot let my feelings of throwing a party and no one is coming to hold me back!
I cannot tell myself that everyone is going to LOVE it. Here again, not EVERYONE is going to enjoy the show. I cannot allow what you think of it deter me from even getting started.
Here is what I am hoping for…that community will support a new and interesting twist on a photography exhibit. I hope you come see some art, see some friends, and play. Yep, let’s leave your adult behind and just enjoy the experience TOGETHER!
Everyone is invited to attend a fun display of my work, The Narcissique Touriste, on Monday, August 2nd at The Broken Arrow Museum, 400 South Main Street, Broken Arrow, OK from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. You, too, can visit pictures of these same iconic vistas in the gallery, and are encouraged to take your own selfies at this “stay and play” exhibit.
